Employment Type: time position at 0.5333 FTE (20 hours per week). The prorated monthly salary range would be $2,435.60 ā $2,871.83.

Job Summary
The Clinical Research Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and financial support for the clinical research activities of the Division of Pediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery, University of British Columbia (UBC). This includes studies conducted within the Division as well as national and international collaborative network studies in which Division members are involved. The incumbent will also be involved with supporting clinical research trials.
Organizational Status
The UBC Faculty of Medicine Department of Surgery educates students at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels, and pursues research to make innovative advancements in knowledge and practice to improve health. The Department consists of more than 600 physicians, surgeons, scientists and educators and over 70 administrative, research and technical staff in nine divisions distributed across British Columbia. There are nine divisions in the following specialties: Cardiac Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery. The Department is also home to the Branch for Global Surgical Care (BGSC).
The Clinical Research Assistant will work directly with members of the Division of Pediatric Surgery, including physicians and allied health professionals as well as students and trainees working on specific projects. The Clinical Research Assistant will also liaise with staff at the Institutional Review Board (UBC) and Hospital Research Review Committee (C&W;), the Office for Pediatric Surgery Evidence and Innovation (OSPEI), other individuals who are working in equivalent research positions either in the institution or in other institutions or organizations who are research collaborators (e.g. Canadian Consortium for Research in Pediatric Surgery [CanCorps], Canadian Biliary Atresia Registry [CBAR], Canadian Pediatric Surgery Network [CAPSNet]), as well as patients and parents of patients involved in research studies.
