We are developing our exceptional Out of School Care team and have permanent, part time Child Development Mentor positions available for youth aged 17

6) every day across all our locations. Over the summer months, Child Development Mentors facilitate our active Summer Camps program. We pride ourselves in delivering a dynamic program with professional, energetic staff that work to uphold Government Licensing Standards and BGC Operating Standards.
This role is eligible for Alberta Wage Top Up ($2.64 to $8.62 depending on Early Childhood Educator level) in addition to the wage range.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Active supervision and engagement to ensure safety and wellbeing of all children
· Creating a positive and encouraging environment for children
· Program planning, preparation, and delivery
· Preparation and serving of a snack with a focus on healthy choices and nutrition
· Consistent and effective team communication
· Cleaning and program space maintenance
· Upholding the Mission and Core Values of BGC Canada; Belonging, Respect, Encouragement, Working Together and Speaking Out
· Ongoing participation in professional development opportunities and training
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Alberta Child Development certification is essential, with priority given to applicants with a Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification. Level 1 required within 4 months of hire.
· Experience with children in a child care setting, preferably in a licensed setting.
· Demonstrated children’s or recreation program development & delivery experience.
· Understanding of a strength
