Job Description:
CFAA Technicians at Fire Safety and Protection enjoy learning and performing the full extent of what a CFAA offers a client, from Fire Alarm to Security installation, service, and inspection. Responsibilities:
- Testing, inspecting, verifying and servicing fire alarm systems and devices.
- Looking for all levels of experience in fire alarm and security installation, service, and inspection.
- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
- Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
- Follow local and national security standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a CFAA License.
- Must be a member in good standing of UA Local 853 or be willing to become a member.
- Ability and desire to learn all facets of the CFAA Technician role in fire alarm and security.
- Prior experience with monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems and security systems preferred.
- Siemens and/or Mircom ESD experience preferred.
- Positive attitude & strong work ethic.
- Customer oriented mentality.
- Ability to work within the territory and surrounding areas.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, stand prolonged periods of time, lift 35 lbs, and other requirements common to a CFAA Technician.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Differentiate color coding of cables.
