secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, or Human Resources and is looking to begin their career in payroll administration. The successful candidate will receive hands‑on training and mentorship and will work closely with senior payroll team members to learn payroll processes, legislation, and systems. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing Support Assistwith the preparation and processing of weekly and bi‑weekly payroll Enter andmaintainemployee data including new hires, terminations (ROEs), and job changes Assistwith time and attendance review and data validation Support payroll adjustments such as bonuses, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, and deductions Employee & Administrative Support Respond to basic employee payroll inquiries (pay statements, deductions, direct deposit) Assistwith payroll documentation, filing, and record retention Support year‑end payroll activities (T4s) under guidance from senior staff Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information at all times Compliance & Controls Learn and apply federal and provincial payroll legislation Assistin ensuring payroll compliance with Employment Standards, CRA, and internal policies Support audits and payroll reconciliations as requested Systems & Reporting Enter and update payroll information in the payroll system Assistwith generating basic payroll reports Participate in system testing, audits, and data clean‑up activities as needed Qualifications & Experience Payroll education or certification coursework (e.G., Payroll Compliance Practitioner – PCP program) is an asset Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic understanding of payroll principles and deductions Proficiencywith Microsoft Excel and Outlook Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Co‑op, practicum, internship, or part‑time experience in payroll or accounting Exposure to payroll or HRIS systems, would be an asset Knowledge of unionized or multi‑province payroll (training provided), is preferred Eager to learn and develop a career in payroll Solid numerical aptitude Customer‑service mindset with employees and internal stakeholders Dependable, methodical, and detail‑oriented Comfortable working with deadlines and structured processes #J
