Job Title: Halal Slaughterer / Butcher (Blesser)
Location: Listowel, Ontario
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM ā 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20.25 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Halal Slaughterer / Butcher (Blesser) to join our team in Listowel, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Islamic slaughter practices and be committed to maintaining high standards of halal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform halal slaughtering in accordance with Islamic principles and guidelines
Properly recite the required blessings (Tasmiyah) during the slaughter process
Ensure all procedures meet halal certification and food safety standards
Handle and process meat with care, maintaining hygiene and quality
Use knives and equipment safely and efficiently
Follow workplace health and safety regulations
Requirements:
Very good knowledge of Islamic slaughter requirements
Robust ability and accuracy in reciting the required blessings
Prior and genuine experience in halal slaughtering/butchery
Valid CCHP (Certified Canadian Halal Program) certification required
Knife handling certification required
Ability to work in a normal temperature environment
Work Environment:
Clean and organized facility
Standard working temperature conditions
Job Type: Full time
Pay: From $20.25 per hour
