Key Responsibilities
Relationship Development: Build and strengthen relationships with community leaders, Indigenous communities, local businesses, and government organizations.
Project Growth in Northern & Remote Regions: Identify opportunities to increase the volume of solar projects across Northern Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwestern Ontario, and other regions as we expand.
Funding & Grant Development: Research, identify, and pursue funding opportunities, including government grants and incentive programs.
Prepare and submit grant applications, and proactively bring these opportunities to communities that would benefit from solar projects.
Lead Generation & Outreach: Generate new opportunities through networking, community engagement, and strategic outreach.
Market Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the unique needs, infrastructure challenges, and opportunities within northern and remote communities.
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment from opportunity to project execution.
Reporting & Strategy: Track pipeline activity, funding opportunities, and project progress, contributing to overall business development strategy.
Qualifications
Experience: Prior success in business development, sales, economic development, or a related field and/or existing relationships with northern communities.
Relationship Skills: Robust ability to build trust and work within diverse communities.
Grant Experience (Preferred): Experience identifying, writing, or managing grant applications is a strong asset.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Industry Knowledge: Renewable energy, construction, or infrastructure experience is an asset but not required.
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel periodically to northern and remote communities, including occasional overnight stays.
