Kirkton Veterinary Clinic is currently seeking a Bovine Embryo Transfer (ET) / Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) Veterinarian to join their team in Saint Marys.

Required Experience

time equivalent ET/OPU practice with additional veterinarians trained in frozen direct transfer, 2 embryologists and a full administration team.
Duties will include performing Conventional ET, Dominant Follicle Reductions (DFRs), ovum pick up (OPU), fresh and frozen transfers, donor and recipient management and scheduling, and herd health.
Our home base is a new, standalone building located in St. Marys, Ontario which houses our ET and OPU teams, our permanent laboratory, and embryo storage. We work with a donor barn located in Woodstock, Ontario where we perform ET and OPU on resident and in/out donors. In addition, we have two mobile laboratories for conventional ET work performed on farm. We are fully certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Canadian Embryo Transfer Association/ Association Canadienne de Transfert d'Embryons (CETA/ACTE) for the production, storage, and export of embryos.
The successful candidate will be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school. The candidate must already have, or be capable of licensure with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
Experience in ET, OPU, and herd health are considered assets, however, training for the right candidate will be considered.
Additional opportunities are available for herd health and emergency work if interested.
