Key Responsibilities Board Directors are expected to: Provide strategic oversight and governance in alignment with the Foundation’s mission and values Participate actively in Board discussions, decision‑making, and policy development Support fundraising and community engagement efforts, including acting as an ambassador for the Foundation Assist in identifying and cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners Serve on a Board committee (e.G., Finance and Investment, Community Initiatives, Board Development, Human Resources) Uphold fiduciary responsibilities, including financial oversight and stewardship of donor funds Maintain confidentiality and act in the best interests of the Foundation at all times Time Commitment Board Meetings: Approximately 2 hours per month (no meetings in July, August, or December) Regular Board Meetings are held on the last Monday of the month, beginning at 4:00pm at Brightshores Health System Markdale (Markdale Hospital) Committee Involvement: Additional time commitment depending on committee participation Events & Engagement: Attendance at Foundation events and occasional community outreach activities Skills & Experience We are seeking individuals who bring one or more of the following: Robust connection to the South Grey region and a commitment to local healthcare Experience in business, governance, finance, marketing, communications, or related fields Previous board or volunteer leadership experience (considered an asset) Strategic thinking and sound judgment Strong communication and collaboration skills We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive Board that reflects the communities we serve.
