About the prospect
The Division of Developmental Pediatrics at Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre invite applications for a 1.0 FTE academic physician at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will join a group of four Developmental Pediatricians in providing clinical care, teaching and engaging in research. The Division also includes a PhD Psychologist who is involved in research, primarily related to Autism. This position will be primarily clinical, with some teaching responsibilities and research time. Depending on experience and interest, leadership opportunities may also be available.
The IWK Health Centre is an academic tertiary care pediatric and maternal care hospital, serving the three Maritime Provinces. Our clinic provides care to children from birth through age 16 years. We work closely with colleagues in a variety of disciplines providing care to children with autism, learning disabilities, complex ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and a wide spectrum of other developmental disorders.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent. They must also have FRCPC certification in pediatrics, and subspecialty certification in developmental pediatrics, or FRCPC certification in child and adolescent psychiatry, and experience in neurodevelopmental disabilities, or equivalent experience and training. Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Nova Scotia. Training and experience in related research, experience in medical education, and familiarity with current gold standard autism diagnostic tools are assets for this position. Compensation and academic appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
