Overview
The dream job for someone passionate about powersports. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman motorcycle mechanic to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB Canada. Our shop specializes in off road motorcycles only. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in mechanical systems such as 2 & 4 stroke engine rebuilds, suspensions, electrical and various other bike repairs. The candidate will be also be responsible for performing complex maintenance, repairs, installations of converting off road motorcycles to snowbikes and assist in R&D; of in house built custom parts as well as assist in evolving custom dirt and snow bikes. Candidates must possess a high level of craftsmanship, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently & as part of a team. Along with doing the work in our shop the candidate will assist in coming on tuning and R&D; rides in the mountains on our and customer units. We specialize in building high end bikes so a special attention to detail is our priority. This position will evolve into a shop foreman position for the right candidate.
Duties
- Ability to complete 2 & 4 stroke off road motorcycle engine & suspension rebuilds a priority.
- Assist in R&D; on in house built custom parts.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs, adjustments, and installations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to perform precise work.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and departments to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
- Assist in training apprentices or junior staff as needed to promote skill development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyperson or in a similar mechanical role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across relevant various systems and equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Experience operating power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, parts break downs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety procedures and best practices in industrial environments.
- Relevant certifications or licenses required.
- Have attention to detail on all tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
