Job Summary
We are seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Mechatronic Technician Lead to join our manufacturing team. This full‑time role is responsible for assembling and repairing our latest systems while providing day‑to‑day supervision and guidance to junior technicians and co‑op students.
You will report to the Manufacturing Production Supervisor, to ensure customer sales orders are consistently filled in time. In this role, the successful candidate will:
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, repair, and (depending on aptitude) test electro‑mechanical systems to meet production deadlines and quality standards
- Update system status and log issues using our ERP system
- Train, supervise, assign tasks, and set clear expectations for junior technicians and co‑op students
- Communicate priorities and ensure quality and quantity targets are met on the manufacturing line
- Participate in interviews and assist with hiring of additional technical staff as required
- Provide feedback on assembly SOPs as part of continuous improvement and ISO 9001 compliance initiatives
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience assembling electro‑mechanical products in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience managing and training a 5–10 person technical team
- Solid interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with changing priorities
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong troubleshooting and decision‑making skills, with the ability to escalate issues as needed
- Comfortable using powered and hand tools
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience using a commercial ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Infor)
Additional Beneficial Skills
- Degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, ISO standards, or similar quality systems
- Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL‑STD or IEC
- Hands‑on experience with motors, electronics, computer hardware, or software development
