If you like helping people improve how they run their business — and you enjoy seeing the direct impact of your work — this role might be for you.
PaintScout is a Calgary-based software company that helps painting contractors run better businesses. Contractors use PaintScout to estimate jobs, manage leads, collect payments, and organize their operations.
But here’s something we’ve learned:
Software alone doesn’t change a business. People using it well do.
That’s where you come in.
We’re hiring a Customer Success Coach to work directly with contractors worldwide and help them actually use the software to improve how they operate.
What This Role Is Really About
You’ll work with business owners — many of whom are running growing companies — and help them build better systems using PaintScout.
Sometimes that means helping someone send their first estimate. Sometimes it means helping them rethink how they manage leads or collect payments.
Your job isn’t just to answer questions.
It’s to coach customers toward better habits, better processes, and better outcomes inside their business.
This isn’t a pure support role. It isn’t a sales role either.
It’s about building relationships, driving adoption, and helping customers succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Getting New Customers Started and Up to Speed
You’ll guide new customers through getting started with PaintScout.
That includes:
- Running onboarding calls
- Helping customers send their first estimates quickly
- Showing how the software fits into their workflow
- Staying close during the first 30–90 days to make sure momentum doesn’t stall
2. Ongoing Coaching
Once customers are up and running, you’ll continue working with them.
You’ll:
- Run check-ins focused on outcomes, not just features
- Help contractors improve how they estimate and run jobs
- Encourage use of core features like CRM, production and payments
- Translate “I want to grow my business” into practical actions inside the software
3. Problem Solving
Customers will often come to you first when something isn’t working.
You’ll:
- Answer questions clearly and quickly
- Help troubleshoot usage issues
- Escalate technical bugs to the right team when needed
The goal isn’t just solving problems — it’s helping customers move forward.
4. Retention & Growth
You’ll also play a key role in helping customers stay successful long term.
That means:
- Spotting early signs of disengagement
- Re-engaging customers before problems grow
- Helping them see value in the software
- Supporting upgrades naturally through education and results
What Success Looks Like
Customers:
- Know who you are
- Show up to meetings
- Use PaintScout consistently
- Send estimates and close jobs through the platform
- Stay customers and grow their business
Internally:
- You manage your customer portfolio in an organized way
- You track your key metrics
- You take ownership of results
Who You Are
You’ll likely do well in this role if:
- You communicate clearly and confidently
- You’re comfortable talking with business owners
- You’re organized and follow through on commitments
- You care about results, not just activity
- You can balance empathy with accountability
Experience in trades, painting, SaaS, or business operations can help — but it isn’t required.
What matters most is that you can coach people, build trust, and help them improve.
Why Join PaintScout?
- Growing Calgary-based SaaS company
- Tight-knit team that works together in person sometimes
- Clear expectations and real accountability
- Opportunity to grow into senior coaching or leadership roles
- Market-competitive salary + performance incentives
This is a hybrid in-office role in Calgary. We believe working together helps us move faster, learn faster, and support customers better.
