We are looking for awesome, self-driven Personal Support Workers to work throughout the Haliburton, Kawartha, and/or Peterborough Region.
\n
Scheduling Requirements:
\n
\n
- Flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred. Weekend availability is also preferred.\n
\n
- MUST be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule for the foreseeable future\n
\n
- Available and willing to see multiple clients throughout the day\n
\n
\nDuties and Responsibilities\n
\n
- Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
\n
- Provide companionship and light housekeeping (whatever it takes to help a person stay at home).
\n
- Prepare meals in accordance to the client and/or the family's request (must be open to preparing different kinds of cuisine).
\n
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs that is within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker
\n
- Assists clients in all activities of daily living/ hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth.
\n
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
\n
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly.
\n
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.
\n
- Completes records and documentations accurately and thoroughly.
\n
\n
Requirements
\n\n
- Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas of work, an asset if you can travel to rural/remote areas.\n
\n
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English\n
\n
- PSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution or International nursing/ doctorate Certification\n
\n
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year\n
\n
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate\n
\n
- Valid WHMIS2015 Certificate of Completion\n
\n
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code\n
\n
- Immunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and Diphtheria REQUIRED, immunization of Hepatitis B is strongly urged.\n
\n
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.\n
\n
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English\n
\n
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.\n
\n
- Requires good judgement, the ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team\n
\n
- Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) Registration an asset
\n
