Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and personable Driver Companion to join our team. This role involves providing safe and comfortable transportation services to clients, ensuring a positive experience during each journey. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to assist passengers with their needs while maintaining safety and efficiency throughout their shifts.
Compensation:
$19.50 plus per-trip incentives. Drivers are compensated for all scheduled hours, with additional incentives tied to completed trips and client support needs.
About the Role
As a Driver Companion, you will:
- Provide safe, reliable transportation to medical appointments and community outings
- Offer door-to-door assistance (not just curbside)
- Escort clients into clinics or appointments when needed
- Support clients with mobility challenges (walking assistance, steadying support)
- Communicate professionally with families and care teams
- Ensure a respectful, calm, and positive experience for every client
- Document trip details accurately as required by company procedures
Requirements
- Valid G driver’s license (clean driving record)
- Access to a reliable, well-maintained vehicle.
- Valid personal auto insurance is required. Insurance must include use of the vehicle for client transportation.
- Drivers must be willing to obtain appropriate, if not already in place
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- Explicit Vulnerable sector check
- Ability to assist clients with light mobility support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working independently
Assets (not required but preferred):
- Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or community support
- Experience supporting individuals with mobility or cognitive challenges
