PLC Programmer - Tier 1 Automotive

Our client, a Tier 1 Canadian Manufacturer in the automotive industry, is looking to hire an experienced PLC / HMI programmer for their North End GTA Plant.
In this role, you will support the programming, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of shop floor control systems used for automation of the production line.
Duties and Tasks of this Position:
- Programming, commissioning, testing of PLC and HMI systems
- Integration with other manufacturing equipment such as motion control, vision, FRID, scanners, measurement equipment etc
- Maintaining, troubleshooting / diagnosing / upgrading control systems
- Working with operators to ensure proper safety protocols are in place for machine stops / failures
- Basic maintenance of automation equipment
Experience/Skills Required:
- Diploma or degree in related field
- 5+ year’s experience programming, commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems
- Experience working the automotive industry, specifically stamping, welding and/or assembly environments
- Experience programming AB, Omron and / or Siemens PLCs
- Experience working with various power tools and equipment , with ability to adjust die protection sensors (proximity, photoelectric, mechanical)
- Knowledge of machine guarding and safety devices
Other:
- Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 6am – 2pm
- Flexibility to support alternative shifts on occasion as required
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
