Summary of Position: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Dragline Maintenance Department.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
Organizing, implementing and directing the activities of the Dragline Maintenance Department at the mine-site;
Developing the budget and forecasts for all Dragline Maintenance expense and Capital spending;
Managing an effective Dragline preventative maintenance program;
Ensuring all activities in the department are in compliance with setting and safety legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines and standard mine operating procedures;
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in the department;
Establishing a positive working workplace by conducting and participating in activities that contribute to an effective working relationship with all employees;
Promoting teamwork and employee development through effective communication and implementing and monitoring performance standards;
Assuming other duties and/or responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economic and physical setting of the Mine or Company.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills;
Have a minimum of 15 years of related mining experience in a managerial/supervisory role would be preferred;
Possess a Journeyman’s Trade certificate or an Engineering degree;
Have knowledge of all mining equipment and installations as well as experience and knowledge of current safety procedures;
Possess an understanding of mine maintenance software tools;
Have the ability to learn quickly and maintain motivation even in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, and policy, shift and schedule changes.
