POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Administrator is responsible for providing professional and reliable service while supporting the team in achieving JEC’s key objectives with customers and suppliers. This role requires a thorough understanding of customer and supplier requirements, as well as JEC’s Business Management System (BMS) policies and processes, ensuring alignment with company standards for Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Environment. The position demands adaptability, proactive communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement, with performance measured against departmental business plan targets. SUMMARY
Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures accuracy of Accounts Receivable
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases
- Retroactive billing and analysis
- Perform Customs Verification for imports
- Prepares vouchers, invoices, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy
- Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers
- Extract general ledger information
- Compile reports for scrap cost and revenue
- Update selling and purchasing prices in system upon receiving approval from Sales Department
- Manage month end inventory report
- Prepares bank deposits and reconciles bank statements
- Reconciles report discrepancies and problems
- Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections
- Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services
- Corporate external auditors in yearend financial audit and J-SOX audit
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Certification in accounting from a recognized college or university; or 2-3 years of related accounting experience.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
