GRASSLANDS\nis hiring!\nABOUT THE POSITION:\nFairville Colony School is seeking applications for a\nF\null-Time Temporary Colony School Teacher,\nstarting immediately and ending on June 25, 2026.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:\nFairville Colony School is one of seven colony schools in our Grasslands community. This location is in the County of Newell and is approximately 45
\n
minutes outside of Brooks Alberta. These schools follow their own that aligns with community observed holidays and traditions.
\n
Colony schools serve children from within the Hutterite community, from kindergarten to Grade 8, offering a unique opportunity to engage with their values and traditions through their youngest members. Students typically begin speaking a German dialect, so teachers focus on developing English skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
\n
The student group is close-knit,
\n
similar to small rural schools, where children of all ages experience their school days together through learning and playing. This multi-grade environment encourages collaboration, independence, and strong relationships among students.

It is a priority within the community to keep traditional values at the center of students’ learning experiences. This includes a limited use of technology, placing greater emphasis on cultural learning and hands-on, face-to-face interaction. The result is a focused setting that minimizes screen use and supports meaningful, relationship-based learning.

- Paid Personal leaves, combined 4 granted per year: 1 day at full pay and 3 days at loss of sub (contracts 5 months or more).
