Overview
We are hiring an experienced Sales Floor Manager to take full ownership of our retail sales floor.
This is not a training role. We are looking for someone who already knows how to lead a retail floor confidently, enforce standards, and make independent decisions without constant direction.
This role exists so store leadership can focus on backend operations, buying, growth, and strategy, while you ensure the sales floor runs smoothly, professionally, and efficiently every day.

Responsibilities
Own the Sales Floor
- Oversee daily retail operations
Customer Leadership
- Deliver strong, professional customer service
- Handle difficult customers calmly and confidently
- Enforce pricing, policies, and procedures without escalating unnecessarily
- Say “no” when appropriate to protect store standards and margins
- Maintain excellent communication in person and over the phone
Operational Execution
- Skate sharpening (required skill - training available but experience preferred)
- Cash handling and POS management
- Receiving product and entering inventory
- Monitoring merchandising standards and product presentation
- Ensuring the store looks organized, stocked, and functional at all times
You will not be responsible for:
- Team sales program management
- Major backend ordering
- Booking management
- High-level administrative planning
Your focus is floor execution and daily leadership.
- Lead and direct part-time staff during shifts
- Answer staff questions and make decisions independently
- Ensure policies are followed consistently
- Maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness (sales floor + back storage)
Who We're Looking For
You are:
- Experienced in retail management or supervisory roles
Required:
- Previous retail leadership experience
- Strong POS and cash handling familiarity
- Available to work weekends
Assets:
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking)
- Skate sharpening experience
- Experience in sporting goods or hockey retail
- Confident enforcing policies consistently
- Not a people-pleaser; you balance service with structure
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proactive (you fix problems before they grow)
- Steady under pressure and able to handle conflict professionally
