Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, execution-driven Marketing & Events Manager to lead all marketing, community engagement, and brand activation efforts across our Meadowvale and Oakville locations. This role operates within a shared regional marketing structure, working closely alongside our Stoney Creek and Burlington Marketing & Events Manager. Success requires the ability to collaborate, align with shared strategies, and execute consistently across all locations. This is a hands-on role with responsibility across community partnerships, events, brand management and input on digital marketing. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable planning strategy and executing day-to-day deliverables.
Core Responsibilities
1. Digital Marketing & Communications
- Manage all social media channels (posts, stories, collaborations, and direct message engagement)
- Support and provide input on digital advertising strategy
- Develop and distribute monthly newsletters (Mailchimp or equivalent platforms)
- Manage automated member communications, including birthday email campaigns
- Maintain and update website content, opening hours, packages and calls-to-action
- Oversee Google Business profiles, including opening hours, and active review monitoring/responding
2. Community & Partnership Development
- Build and manage B2B community partnerships (schools, daycares, local child focussed businesses)
- Lead influencer outreach and relationship management to expand brand reach
- Coordinate community board postings within the schools and local awareness initiatives
- Represent Goldfish Swim School as a brand ambassador within the community
3. Events & Brand Activation
- Plan and execute all internal and external events, including fairs, sponsorships, and community activations
- Coordinate participation in local groups (e.g., moms groups, family networks)
- Prepare and deliver Water Safety Presentations to schools and community organizations
- Lead execution of member and employee appreciation events and campaigns
4. Marketing Operations & Execution
- Coordinate creation of marketing materials and promotional assets
- Develop and update voicemail messaging scripts (seasonal and campaign-based)
- Ensure all activities are aligned with Goldfish Swim School brand standards
- Maintain structured documentation, calendars, and execution timelines
5. Strategy, Planning & Reporting
- Develop and execute location-specific marketing plans
- Contribute to and manage the marketing budget with a focus on ROI and efficiency
- Track and report on monthly performance metrics, including events, outreach, and campaign effectiveness
- Work with Stoney Creek and Burlington Marketing Manager on quarterly marketing plans and performance metrics
6. Collaboration & Leadership Alignment
- Work in close partnership with Marketing Manager in Stoney Creek and Burlington to ensure consistency in strategy and execution
- Participate in regular leadership and cross-location meetings
- Demonstrate a strong ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and align with established best practices
- Contribute ideas while maintaining alignment with broader organizational goals
Position Requirements
- Proven experience managing social media, events, and partnerships
- Strong working knowledge of email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or similar)
- Experience with Google Business, website updates, and digital campaign coordination
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
- Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Commitment to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules
- Availability for extended hours during peak seasonal periods
