Empathic Counselling Centre, located in the heart of Scarborough, is looking to expand their team to meet the increasing mental health needs of the community. In an effort to enhance our client experience, we are looking to offer our clients additional wellness services that would complement their mental health journey.
Many individuals we support have expressed interest in ADHD assessments to better understand their learning styles, workplace challenges, and daily functioning. We view assessment as a meaningful extension of the therapeutic process—one that can foster insight, self-compassion, and practical support.
We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Associate with expertise in ADHD assessment to join our expanding interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys assessment work, values collaboration, and is interested in contributing to a growing, values-driven practice. This opportunity offers the freedom of self-employment without the responsibility of managing a business and marketing.
The successful candidate is able to:
- Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments for adolescents and/or adults including the use of clinical interviews, standardized psychometric measures and collateral/ historical data review, as appropriate
- Analyze and interpret assessment data to arrive at diagnostically sound conclusions
- Prepare explicit, thorough, and ethically sound assessment reports suitable for educational and workplace accommodations
- Plan treatment accordingly
- Provide feedback sessions that are strengths-based, validating, and accessible to clients
- Collaborate with in-house therapists to support continuity of care (with appropriate consent)
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Practice with cultural humility and sensitivity to diverse identities, learning styles, and lived experiences
Qualifications
- Registered (or registration-eligible) Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario
- Demonstrated training and experience in ADHD assessment
- Strong understanding of differential diagnosis and comorbid presentations
- Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to culturally responsive practice
- Excellent clinical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration within a team-based setting
