Position Summary
The Orthodontist is responsible for providing high-quality orthodontic care to patients of all ages. This role focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities while working collaboratively with the broader dental team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and develop orthodontic treatment plans for patients
- Provide orthodontic treatments including (but not limited to) braces, clear aligners, and other corrective appliances
- Educate patients and families on treatment options, timelines, and oral hygiene requirements
- Monitor treatment progress and adjust plans as required
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records
- Collaborate with General Dentists, Hygienists, and clinical team members to support integrated patient care
- Adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols and regulatory standards
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality
- Stay current with advancements in orthodontic techniques and best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- Successful completion of an accredited Orthodontic Specialty Program
- Licensed and in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO)
- Eligibility to practice Orthodontics in Ontario
- Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
