As a Pharmacist at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, you will provide hands-on clinical care by working closely with patients, physicians, and the healthcare team to improve medication regimens and patient outcomes. You will be responsible for managing therapy for both acute and chronic conditions, helping patients understand their medications through explicit education, and supporting smooth transitions as patients move between different care settings. Strong communication skills and a practical, patient-focused approach are essential to this role. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and effective preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.
Additional prescribing authorization (or obtained within 1 year from date of hire).
