Overview:
AMGH is seeking one casual, Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care on its Medical Surgery/Obstetrics unit.
Qualifications:
- Current BCLS certification
- Current registration and certification of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Undergraduate degree in Nursing preferred)
- Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NRP) certification
Required Skills:
Related experience in the following areas are considered an asset:
- Breastfeeding Course/Certificate
- Recent experience (including clinical) with medical/surgical, or OB related nursing experience
- Well-developed Patient Assessment, Planning Intervention and Evaluation Skills
- Computer literacy and Meditech knowledge and experience - asset
- Experience in the management of patient’s requiring the following: Epidural Catheter/Spinal Anaesthetic - asset
Abilities:
- Ability to manage a variety of patient conditions
- Ability to organize related activities; to remain flexible; and adapt to crisis situations
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Good attendance and work record is essential
- Self-directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Sound critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and timely decision making skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills
