Vacancy: ADD
Drives operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI). This role partners with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and EHS to eliminate waste, improve flow, elevate first‑pass yield, and reduce costs. The ideal candidate is hands‑on on the floor, data‑driven, and adept at coaching teams to sustain gains.
Key Responsibilities
Lean Systems & Strategy
Lead kaizen events (SMED, 5S, value stream mapping, line balancing, TPM, standard work) to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale (SQDCM) targets.
Develop and maintain the site’s Lean roadmap and CI project hopper aligned to business priorities.
Build and standardize visual management (SQDC boards, tier meetings).
Process Engineering & Optimization
Analyze process flow, takt time, cycle time, OEE, and WIP using time studies, work sampling, and spaghetti diagrams; implement pull systems and kanban.
Design or refine cell layouts using lean principles (U‑cells, point‑of‑use, material presentation). Implement solutions related to this in areas of responsibility/need.
Support PFMEA, mistake‑proofing (Poka‑Yoke), and workload balance.
Data & Problem Solving & Reporting
Apply structured root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone), and statistical tools to measurably reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.
Build dashboards to track CI benefits (OEE, FPY, DPMO, on time delivery, conversion cost) and verify savings with Finance.
Maintains records and formulates reports on CI progress, schedules and initiatives.
Standardization & Training
Create/work with Standard Work, work instructions, job breakdown sheets, and change control.
Train and coach operators, team leads, and engineers in Lean fundamentals and problem solving to embed daily CI behaviors.
New Product/Process Introduction
Support DFM/DFA, pilot builds, and ramp‑up planning; set line rates, staffing, and material flow for stable launch.
Conduct capacity modeling and constraints analysis; recommend capital or low‑cost automation where justified.
Safety & Compliance
Integrate EHS and ergonomic best practices into line designs and kaizen activities.
Ensure processes meet internal and external requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3–7+ years of experience in high‑mix or high‑volume discrete manufacturing (or comparable process environment).
- Demonstrated delivery of Lean/CI projects with quantifiable results (cost, OEE, lead time, labor efficiency improvements, quality).
- Proficiency with time studies, line balancing, PFMEA.
- Strong analytical skills with Excel/Sheets and at least one data/BI or statistical tool (e.g., Power BI, Minitab, JMP).
- Excellent facilitation and change management skills, comfortable leading on the production floor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus).
