About the Role:
We are seeking a trustworthy, proactive, and energetic Personal Support Worker to support a 19-year-old male in building independence and staying active. The goal of this position is to provide "side-by-side" support—helping him navigate his community while teaching and reinforcing essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Life Skills Coaching: Actively teaching and practicing daily living skills, including meal planning, grocery shopping, money management (paying for lunch/budgeting), and time management for his volunteer shifts.
- Physical Activity: Joining him for gym workouts and swimming sessions to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
- Community Engagement: Providing transportation and support for his volunteer work at the library and animal shelter.
- Social Mentorship: Accompanying him to lunch with friends, helping him navigate social cues and independence in public settings.
What We’re Looking For:
- Honest & Trustworthy: A high level of integrity is a must.
- The "Teacher" Mindset: Someone patient who understands how to break down tasks to help someone learn, rather than just doing the task for them.
- Reliable Driver: Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
