Job Summary:
\nWe are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bike Coach to lead our cycling program this summer. The Bike Coach will be responsible for teaching campers the fundamentals of biking, including safety, maintenance, and riding techniques, while ensuring a fun and engaging atmosphere. This position requires a passion for cycling, experience working with youth, and the ability to foster a love of biking in campers of various skill levels.\n
Key Responsibilities:

1. Instruction & Coaching:

- Teach campers the basics of biking, including safety protocols, proper riding techniques, and bike maintenance.\n
\n
- Implement our daily biking activities, drills, and games suitable for various skill levels.\n
\n
- Provide individual and group coaching to help campers improve their biking skills and confidence.\n
\n
\n\n
1. Safety Management:

\n\n
- Ensure all biking activities are conducted safely and in accordance with camp policies and local regulations.\n
\n
- Supervision of camp pump track when participants are using. Properly teach riders how to use pump track.\n
\n
- Conduct regular safety checks on bikes and equipment, ensuring all gear is well-maintained and functioning properly.\n
\n
- Monitor campers during biking activities, providing guidance and support as needed.\n
\n
\n\n
1. Program Development:

\n\n
- Follow our structured cycling curriculum that incorporates skill-building and fun elements.\n
\n
- Evaluate the progress of campers and adjust programming to meet the varying needs of individuals and groups.\n
\n

1. Camper Engagement:

\n\n
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere where all campers feel comfortable participating.\n

- Foster teamwork and sportsmanship among campers during biking activities and challenges.\n
\n
- Build strong relationships with campers to support their personal and social development.\n
\n

1. Collaboration:

- Work closely with other camp staff to coordinate schedules, integrate biking into the overall camp programming, and participate in camp activities.\n

- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns.\n

\nQualifications:\n
\n
- Age 18 years and older\n
\n
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in a camp or youth program environment.\n
\n
- Customer service training and experience.\n
\n
- Knowledge of standards and legislation related to safe camp operations, including familiarity with OCA Standards.\n
\n
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willing to take.\n
\n
- Valid driver’s license - Must have access to a vehicle on Monday thru Friday 8 am to 4 pm\n
\n
- Mandated training required before or shortly after commencing work.\n
\n
- Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.\n
\n

- Experienced Mountain Biker, and knowledge of bike maintenance & safety\n

- Ability to work 8 hour shift, and adapt to changing weather conditions.\n

- Strong biking skills and knowledge of bike maintenance and safety.\n

\nPhysical Requirements:\n

- Ability to ride a bike for extended periods and lead biking activities.\n
\n
- Must be able to lift and maneuver bikes and equipment safely.\n
\n
