Position Overview
\nOur composting facility in Pemberton is currently seeking a Scale Operator/General Laborer to join our dedicated team.\n
Please note that this role is for the following shift: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm (hours).
\n
The Position The successful candidate will support overall compost site operations, with a primary focus on scale house activities.
\n
Responsibilities include maintaining scale house cleanliness, accurately weighing inbound and outbound loads, and managing computerized batch monitoring systems. The role also involves performing clerical duties such as issuing purchase orders and interacting directly with customers. During fair weather conditions, additional responsibilities may include site cleanup, plastics picking and removal from compost materials.

What You Need The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

- Initiative and ability to work well independently and with others

- Conscientious and strong work ethic
\n
- Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, data entry, willing to learn new software programs for scale/sales, creditcard/debit device

- Desire and aptitude to learn

- Minimum Grade 12 education
\n
- A valid Class 5 license is an asset
\n
- Preference will be given to people with previous office and or labor experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or construction
