Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Deli Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a deli and/or kitchen workplace and be able to provide friendly customer service, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and serve deli items such as roasted chickens, salads, and hot foods (using a rational oven, pizza oven, and deep fryer)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area
Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent customer service
Operate deli equipment including slicers
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper storage and sanitization
Monitor inventory levels of deli items/supplies
Order stock from various suppliers each week
Put away orders and report any shortages or short dated items that were received
Oversee deli staff to promote productivity and professionalism
Willingness to cross train in other grocery departments would be given preference
Experience:
Previous deli and/or kitchen experience is REQUIRED.
Knowledge of food safety practices
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Food Safety Certificate is seen as a plus
