Job Description
As a Member of Jungbunzlauer Canada’s Executive Management team, the Operations Site Head will provide leadership and technical manufacturing expertise to the Plant in Port Colbourne at this exciting time of expansion.
The role will manage the leadership team of the site, which includes the Production Management Citric Acid and Xanthan, Environmental Manager, Utility Manager, Maintenance Coordinator, Quality Assurance Manager and Engineering
Responsibilities
- Manage the operations of the plant against budget to achieve established objectives.
- Produce high-quality products against established quality standards.
- Set and maintain yield, productivity and costs.
- Ensure compliance and proactively manage and implement environmental policies and practices, as well as safety rules and regulations.
- Define and implement process improvements.
- Provide leadership as the top expert for difficult technical questions.
- Proactively recognize and quickly assess manufacturing problems, with the ability to provide the directives and guidance for problem solving actions.
- Manage, develop and motivate the technical and manufacturing staff.
- Formulate and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the manufacturing function.
- Provide solid leadership in order to gain alignment among the different reporting functions and ensure optimal deployment of the team’s efforts.
Experience required;
- Management of large scale investment projects
- Demonstrated management (approximately three years) of plant operations in a similar environment (fermentation industry, brewing industry, dairy industry, wet milling).
- Proven track record of setting and achieving production targets in accordance with quality, cost and time requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex operating unit including conceptual, planning, negotiating, and problem-solving and execution skills.
- Successful track record in defining and implementing projects against quality, cost and time targets.
- Proven leadership skills to develop and motivate a team in line with the Jungbunzlauer values of care, courage, collaboration and curiosity
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships, both individually and among team members.
- A concern for working well and competing against a standard of excellence.
- Continuously striving for efficiency and improvement in output and results.
- A detailed understanding of the manufacturing process, based on a university education and relevant career experience.
