Position Overview: LEGO Robotics Instructor
As a LEGO Instructor, you will lead interactive, hands-on classes that inspire creativity and problem-solving using LEGO Education tools. Programs will include LEGO WeDo for younger learners or beginners and LEGO Mindstorms (EV3s) for advanced students. You will guide students through exciting projects that build skills in robotics, engineering, and teamwork while fostering a love for STEM learning.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead LEGO-based classes with six to twenty students.
- Actively guide students to complete engaging LEGO robotics projects.
- Manage classroom activities to maintain a fun and productive learning environment.
- Deliver lessons that advance student knowledge following a pre-designed curriculum.
- Assist in curriculum development for LEGO robotics programs.
- Set up and organize classroom materials for seamless operation.
- Motivate and inspire students to explore STEM concepts.
- Provide transparent instructions and mentorship to assistant instructors.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching students aged 6 to 16.
- Proficient in LEGO robotics tools such as LEGO WeDo and LEGO Spike & Spike Essentials.
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
- Willingness to assist in curriculum development and adapt to evolving program needs.
- CPR – First Aid certification is an asset (required within one month of hiring).
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Valid G license and/or access to a personal vehicle is preferred.
Ideal Candidate:
- Enthusiastic about fostering student engagement through LEGO robotics.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving during robotics challenges.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Experience or interest in developing innovative projects.
Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications. TAC Sports welcomes applications from people with disabilities and will provide accommodation upon request as required by law.
