Responsibilities:
- Greet, assist and thank customers in a friendly manner, over the phone and in person.
- Educate customers in the care and maintenance of annuals, perennials, nursery stock and related products.
- Recommend related products to customers so they leave with everything they need.
- Assist in the receipt of garden centre products.
- Ensure that retail tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., maintain and rotate annuals, perennials and nursery stock, stocking, labels, facing, clean area etc.).
- Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements / Skills
- No experience is required!!! – We will provide all the training you need!
- Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
- Approachable
- Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate a cash register (asset)
- Pesticide handling license (asset)
- Knowledge of nursery stock and horticultural products (asset)
Salary: $17.85- $19.00 Per Hour
