About the Job
Reporting to the CEO, the Manager, Finance is responsible for overseeing GMSC’s financial operations, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. This role provides senior‑level oversight of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial processes, supporting informed decision‑making across the organization.
This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on financial oversight, review, and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight of day‑to‑day financial operations and internal controls
- Review of operating and capital budgets, multi‑year forecasts, and variance analysis
- Oversight of month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Review of financial reporting for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Coordination of audits and liaison with external auditors and service providers
- Ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and reporting requirements
- Providing financial analysis and reporting support to the CEO and leadership team
About You
As an ideal candidate, you have strong financial analysis and modeling skills and can translate complex data into clear insights. You have deep knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations, along with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement. With excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, you can inspire teams and navigate rapid-paced environments with integrity and professionalism. You bring senior finance leadership experience with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Required Qualifications
· Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, or financial oversight roles
· Experience in public sector, municipal, or multi‑service environments is an asset
· Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is not required and will be considered an asset only
