Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or review compilation, review and audit engagements, including corporate and personal tax returns, HST returns, and bookkeeping;
- Managing engagements, including keeping Partners abreast of progress;
- Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments;
- Responsible for identifying and resolving complex and routine accounting, audit and tax issues;
- Develop junior staff members by providing technical guidance and mentoring;
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client personnel, co-workers, and all levels of staff and management. Canadian CPA designation;
Experience:
- 3-4 years post-qualification public accounting experience;
- Canadian CPA designation required;
- Sound knowledge of the CICA Handbook, review procedures and tax compliance;
- Ability to provide proactive solutions to clients, partners and staff on complex assurance issues;
- Experience in managing and developing staff on engagements;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
- Proven project management and time management skills;
- Working knowledge of Caseware, Jazzit and Taxprep an asset;
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment and manage changing client deadlines.
