Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our hospitality and food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary and restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and safety, controlling inventory, and ensuring smooth shift operations in a rapid-paced environment. The Food Service Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction across casual dining, fine dining, catering, or banquet settings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet established standards and safety regulations.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Control inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor food safety practices to minimize waste and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff members on food handling, customer service, kitchen procedures, and safety protocols.
- Assist in shift management by scheduling staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with sanitation standards.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support budgeting efforts by monitoring labor costs and controlling operational expenses.
- Collaborate with management team to develop strategies for improving service quality and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant supervision within quick service & fast food restaurants or fine dining establishments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and food safety standards.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in team management, staff training & development, and supervising diverse teams.
- Background in hospitality management or culinary arts preferred; hotel or banquet experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interview candidates and conduct staff training effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, food production, catering services, and kitchen management is desirable.
- Previous supervisory experience in casual dining or hospitality industry settings preferred; assistant manager experience is advantageous.
