The Client Services Officer is responsible for providing information and delivering programs to prospective and existing entrepreneurs who qualify for our services. Working under close supervision, the officer will learn the full loan life cycle, maintain up-to-date client files, and support effective client management. Additional responsibilities include administering programs such as the Entrepreneurial Training Fund, Consultant Advisory Fund, and other initiatives offered by CBDC West Prince Ventures.
**Working proficiency in French is required. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in everyday conversations and handle basic written communication. (Equivalent to approximately a Grade 12 level; full bilingual fluency is not required.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Services and Loan Applications
Provide clients with information on the various programs, identify client training plans, complete an assessment, and present to the Executive Director.
Administration of Programs
Enter all client data into the various software modules. Ensuring client payments are set up in the external collection system. Prepare legal documentation, perform the collection of financial statements, and prepare various financial reports on the program activities.
Client Follow up & Training
Follow up with clients on a regular basis to ensure that clients are successfully implementing proposed projects for which program funds were received. Assist in the identification and organization of business training for CBDC clients as required. Collect on delinquent accounts, generate, and submit monthly reports.
Customer Service
Provide clients with information on the various CBDC loans programs, and other CBDC initiatives. Assist other personnel in the completion of client applications and basic assessments and present client proposals to the Executive Director as required. Provide guidance and client support with business management training preparation as required.
Supervision
The position receives full supervision and direction from the Executive Director and follows established policies and procedures set by the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
The incumbent will develop, with supervision, a technical and financial knowledge to guide clients with their business planning and assessing of loan applications. This knowledge is normally acquired through a post-secondary degree in Business Administration or in a related field of study. The equivalent knowledge and education may also be attained through a combination of training and years of work experience.
COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
· Fluent in English (written and oral); basic understanding (grade 12 level) in French (written and oral) or working towards proficiency.
· Client counseling and service skills - an ability to listen, understand and respond to clientsâ needs.
· Presentation Skills - an ability to effectively present client projects/funding requests to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors and an ability to do presentations on the programs to business or related groups.
· Computer Skills - Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various computer applications and software, including the ability to learn database systems and maintain accurate digital records.
· Relationship Building Skills - an ability to work effectively with the various business partners.
· Teamwork Skills - an ability to effectively communicate in a team atmosphere on an ongoing basis.
COMPENSATION
· Compensation for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 annually for 37.5 hours per week.
· Eligible for enrolment in the group benefits plan (health & Pension) after three months, which is cost shared with the employer
· 3 weeks vacation and one personal day annually
